Ceremonial Deism

It's traditional for religions to have a defining mystery or paradox at the center of their belief system.

The paradox of Ceremonial Deism is that western civilization has grown out of ancient religions that are very silly. But those same religions have provided us with rich traditions that give structure to our lives.

We believe in God.
Ritually, not literally.

We don't understand it either. It's a great mystery.
